Make DIY Easier – Hire the Right Tools for the Job
DIY can be a lot of fun, and a certain amount of satisfaction can be gained by looking at a job well done and knowing you were the one that did it so well, but let’s not forget going the DIY route is supposed to be the cheaper than paying someone else to do the job. In fact, for many people, the probable savings involved are the main reason they opt to DIY in the first place.
Some DIY projects require specialist tools though, and it is seldom cost-effective to buy such tools unless they are likely to be used on a regular basis. This is why tool hire is often the best option. Judging by the number of DIYers that walk through our doors here at Macroom Tool Hire & Sales, do-it-yourself is alive and well in County Cork, and Cork DIYers are smart enough to know where to come when they need a little help and advice to make sure they have the right tools for the job. With more than 25 years of experience, we have advised on everything from choosing the right screwdriver to cement mixer hire and everything else in between. Our advice has saved a great many people a great deal of money over the years and service with a smile is always free.
Getting it Right, Right from the Start
It is often the case that the same results can be achieved in a number of different ways, with the main two differences being the cost of the project and the time involved. For instance, we had a customer came in earlier this year and asked about our cement mixer hire rates. He was very keen to hire one of our petrol-powered Belle mixers, but after seeking the advice of one of our staff members he decided to hire a Belle electric concrete mixer instead. The suggested mixer was equally suitable for his needs, but €3 cheaper to hire per day. It is also quieter and was less likely to annoy his neighbours.
The same day another customer told us his wife was hankering after a flower garden and said he was hoping to break up and remove the concrete the previous home owner had laid to replace the lawn. The customer was considering buying a pick-axe and wondered how much work would be involved. Our staff member immediately advised against such a plan and recommended the customer hire a large electric-powered Kango hammer drill at a cost of just €40 per day. The customer had not realised it was possible to hire a Kango hammer in Cork and was doubly surprised when he discovered the necessary 240v to 110v transformer would be provided at no additional cost.
In the last example our experienced staff member was able to save the customer a lot of time and unnecessary blisters, and the previous example illustrates how our advice saved one of our customers a little money. Both examples illustrate the importance of choosing the right tools for the right job. What’s your next job, and how can we make your DIY activities easier?
