Get Your Garden Ready for Summer
It’s summertime at last and we’re looking forward to getting outside and enjoying the garden. Most of us, though, don’t spend much time out there until the sun comes out and then we wish we’d prepared earlier to make it feel more like a peaceful haven than an overgrown dumping ground!
Relaxing with a bbq is our favourite way to chill out in the sunshine and here’s how to get your garden ready for entertaining in just a few easy steps.
Get Your Garden Ready for Summer in Six Easy Steps
1. Weed your flowerbeds. Whether you’ve planted complex displays of blooms or low maintenance perennials, take care to weed and remove dead flowers to prevent seeds spreading and keep your beds looking great.
2. Water everywhere! Water everything regularly to keep your garden fresh and green. A parched lawn and dried up plants aren’t the most inviting backdrop to your summer gatherings!
3. Mow your lawn. Make sure you set your mower to the right length to avoid the scalped look. The neglected jungle look isn’t in fashion this season either so take care to ensure your mower is given regular outings! If a new mower is on your shopping list, check out the models at Macroom Tools, such as this very reasonable Castlegarden model complete with 60 litre grass collection box and mulching feature
4. Tidy up the edges. Straggly hedges and weedy borders are solved very quickly with a strimmer. Remember that your neighbours are busy enjoying their gardens too and strimmers make a real racket so be considerate about when you get this task done and don’t start at 8am on a Sunday morning!
5. Move rubbish. Get yourself a good, strong wheelbarrow and get that pile of rubbish shifted to give your garden an instant facelift! If you have a lot to get rid of, it may be worth hiring a skip or seeing if your neighbours are interested in sharing the cost of one as they may be in the same situation.
6. Get projects finished. If you’ve spent the spring searching for inspiring garden ideas but not managed to complete all the projects you’d planned, now’s the time to get the tools out and finish off. Whether you’re building a pallet seating area or digging a pond, Macroom Tool Hire can find the right piece of equipment for your job and hire costs are surprisingly low.
